I am a PhD Candidate (ABD) in Political Science at The Ohio State University studying International Relations, graduating in May 2027. My research focuses on international security and environmental politics.

My dissertation addresses fraught relationships among the makers of security policy, public audiences, and the ecosystems that both peacetime security and everyday life depend upon. My research combines fine-grained historical reconstruction with innovative theoretical approaches. You can read more about my papers and ongoing projects in the areas of nuclear politics, environmental governance, and colonial territoriality here.

I also have an excellent track record as an effective and dedicated teacher. In 2025, I received OSU’s top honor for graduate student teaching, the Graduate Associate Teaching Award (GATA). You will find more about my teaching approach, experience, and interests here.

Before coming to Ohio State, I worked for four years at the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs. I received my BA from Bard College in 2016 and won the school’s Antonio Gramsci Prize for best senior project in the political studies program.

I pride myself on being an active, friendly, and approachable colleague at OSU and in the field. If you’d like to chat, you can reach me at rabinowitz.43 [at] osu.edu.
